Former Fleet defender Dean Pooley is teaming up with our Principal Sponsors Mitsubishi Electric to take up the gruelling challenge of cycling the “Mitsubishi Electric Burma Cycle”.
The event takes place between 27th January and 9th February next year and covers 470km of uneven terrain — and Dean has accepted the challenge to raise as much money as possible for the Save The Children charity.
Dean, who since departing the club as a player is the assistant to the general manager, will start his challenge from Mandalay, the former 19th century capital of Burma. He will be wearing both the current Ebbsfleet United home and away shirts along with colleagues from Mitsubishi Electric.
The adventure concludes in Bangkok, Thailand, where Mitsubishi Electric will be holding a gala event to welcome the cyclists as they complete their journey.
The club would encourage as many Fleet fans as possible to get behind Dean as he embarks on this formidable challenge by visiting and donating to Dean’s Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/Dean-Pooley.
Dean will be providing regular updates on his progress to our website throughout his journey.
Please give as much as you can afford to support what is an extremely good cause.
