Going up, up, up…

The Club announced this morning that work is progressing well on the repairs to one of the main stadium floodlights damaged in last Saturday night’s storms.

The work is being supervised by Associate Director Mark Humphreys of PHB Construction Ltd working in conjunction with the Club’s Maintenance Team and the Club’s Health and Safety Adviser Shane Jeeves of FFT and its Structural Engineer Reg Kirk of Kirk Saunders.

Humphreys said, “All of the steel fabrication work was completed yesterday and the floodlight will be erected in sections today. Once that has been done the new floodlight frame and lights will be lifted into position on a crane and installed. Considering this only happened at the weekend it has been a magnificent effort by everyone involved to get these complex repairs done in a matter of days.

“I am confident everything will be back to normal by close of play on Thursday which gives us Friday to make any adjustments to the lighting if required. I would reassure the Club’s fans that all necessary surveys and precautionary tests have been undertaken by our professional advisers as the safety of the Club’s supporters is paramount.”
