Gated community

You may have noticed some fine new metalwork adorning the entrance to the Swanscombe End – and it’s all thanks to the generosity of the Fleet Supporters Trust.

The existing gates at that end were beyond repair on inspection earlier this summer as we readied the stadium for your return. With the funding of replacements generously approved by the Trust, we now have sparkling new powder-coated red metal gates installed.

Trust volunteers led by Chris Judge and John Snow were on site to oversee the removal of the old gate and installation of the first new posts over the past two weeks.

The gates also now open outwards, providing so much more access for vehicles required on site.

Fleet CEO Damian Irvine said, “There was an urgent requirement for an update of the old entrance gate and we as a club really appreciate the Trust members’ hard work on this and the constant and fantastic support overall of the Trust. It’s an excellent example of what we can achieve as a team, together, with the common goal of the wellbeing and progress of the Fleet in mind.”

In addition to the gate, the car park entrance has been cleared and levelled under tarmac by Sian Formwork.
