Ebbsfleet United skipper Jack King was named the BT Sport man of the match in our televised win at FC Halifax Town and earned £200 for a charity of his choice.
And King’s award – along with a winning vote in the EUFC online poll and a nomination in the KentOnline team of the weekend – is particularly fitting given that it was against the same opposition on the opening day of the season that he was dismissed after only eight minutes.
It’s been a long, hard campaign in between those two moments for King and his squad colleagues but the team captain’s tenacity and leadership in defence handed Fleet three successive away wins and two clean sheets and saw us climb to the edge of the safety zone for the first time this season.
