From Algarve to Angels…

Ebbsfleet United kick-off their pre-season friendly schedule (at least their UK-based one!) in rainy Tonbridge tonight, fresh from returning to these shores from sun-soaked Portugal.

Fleet will wear their new yellow and blue away kit for the first time and Daryl McMahon could field the two as-yet-unnamed trialists that were given a runout in the second half against Shrewsbury Town last Saturday.

Our last visit to Longmead was in March 2014 when Alex Osborn and Dean Rance scored to give the Fleet a 2-0 win.

The Bostik Premier Division side, managed by former Fleet skipper Steve McKimm, are full of familiar faces, none more so than recent signing Craig Stone from Eastbourne Borough.

Former Fleet youth player and Dover midfielder Chris Kinnear Jr has also joined the Angels after leaving Crabble, while Nathan Elder signed a new contract at Longmead in the summer.

It will be Tonbridge’s first pre-season game as they look to build on two decent seasons and make a bid for promotion back to the National League South.

There is plenty of free car parking by the ground which is situated in Darenth Avenue (TN10 3JF). Admission prices this evening start at £8.00 for adults with reductions for senior citizens and young people.
