Ebbsfleet United vice chairman Peter Varney has expressed his delight at recent home attendances, which has seen successive 2,000+ gates in league matches for the first time since the 1960s.
Varney told FleetOnline, “Our attendance for the Weston-super-Mare home match two weeks ago was 2,045 and we followed this up on Saturday with an attendance for the local derby with Maidstone of 2,157. The really pleasing thing is that with 146 tickets returned of Maidstone’s allocation, it means there were 654 away fans and so more than 1,500 home fans.
“This shows our home support is growing as more and more people are taking an interest in the club. This can only be good for our future development and I hope it encourages more interest from in and around the borough.”
