Ebbsfleet United are concluding several commercial deals ahead of the end of this season and can reveal the first step in a major rebranding initiative at the club ahead of the new stand opening for business.
We are pleased to announce that we will be introducing a new club badge to be worn on all merchandise for the 2017/18 season and a new 2m-high logo will feature front and centre on the front/roadside of the new stand to exhibit the new branding to the public.
After an exhaustive rebranding process we have decided upon the design pictured which we believe reflects our status in the new Ebbsfleet Garden City. In consultation with top leisure brand-management consultancy Avril Agency, we have overhauled the existing badge completely.
We are aware this will not be met in all quarters with initial enthusiasm but the view is that as the current badge has only been in existence since the early 1970s it has not featured in the club’s long history for too long and an overhaul will in the long run bring positive benefits.
The new design incorporates green to reflect the corporate colours of Gravesham Borough Council as well as the red and green colours of the original Gravesend United club.
There are two stars added to the badge to reflect the two Kent Senior Cup successes since the name change to Ebbsfleet United. We have also dispensed with the ship and modernised the ball on advice from The Avril Agency who were determined on a bold, sleek, up-to-date look.
Finally, there are more new flourishes: first, the Ebbsfleet ‘E’ logo – which of course also adorns the roundabout on the approach to Ebbsfleet – takes into account our new Garden City identity. Secondly, we have added the dates 1890, 1946 and 2007 to celebrate the club’s name changes down the years.
We hope supporters will be excited about this new venture as we look to take the club forward.
