Fleet sign mighty Okus plus five youth teamers

Fleet sign six teenagers to first-team forms…

Ebbsfleet United have signed midfielder Conor Okus on one month’s loan from Dagenham & Redbridge. The tall, 19-year-old Nigerian was released by West Ham last summer and after a period on trial at Aberdeen, joined the Daggers on a two-year deal. He has also played for Thurrock.

Faced with two games a week for the next few weeks, Liam Daish has also announced the registration of five teenagers to bolster his squad. The Fleet boss has promoted the young players on scholarship forms from the club’s PASE scheme to allow them to play in Blue Square Bet South fixtures. Midfielder Lanre Azeez received the news on his 18th birthday and will be joined in the Fleet first-team squad by twins Adam and Aaron Williams, 18-year-old midfielder George Reader and 17-year-old Eddie Sharman.

All the players are available for selection for tomorrow’s Blue Square Bet South fixture with Dorchester Town at Stonebridge Road.

And in fixture news, Fleet have rearranged two more matches – Lewes (away) for Wednesday, February 23 and Staines Town (away) for Tuesday, March 8.
