Fleet players to back Black History Month

Fleet players and coaches including Anthony Acheampong, Aiden Palmer and Osei Sankofa will be joining club director Stuart Butler-Gallie and Assistant to General Manager, Dean Pooley, at the Black History Month Gala Event at The Woodville, Gravesend, this Wednesday starting at 11.00am.

Gravesham Council is working in partnership with the Kent Equality Cohesion Council, The Afro-Caribbean Forum and other members of the community to deliver the Gala Event. Black History Month is an important opportunity to look back at the history of the black community and to celebrate the rich cultures and traditions which contribute to the diversity of the UK and particularly our borough, which has a long-established diverse community.

Ebbsfleet United is a major sponsor of the event and will play a key part on Wednesday, that will feature food from around the world, talks on the history of migration, performances and a fashion show and will run from 11am to 5pm. Our matchday programme this coming Saturday will also feature a special article on the history of black footballers.

There is no need to for Fleet fans to book a place for the proceedings on Wednesday – please just turn up if you’d like to get involved.
