Fleet face first ever visit to Merstham

Ebbsfleet United will visit the 2,000-capacity Moatside, Merstham, in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup. It will be the first ever meeting with the Surrey side and the game takes place on Saturday, October 15th.

Merstham will be our third Ryman Premier Division opposition of the season and they are currently 15th in that league, the highest level they have played at.

The Moatsiders have played much of their existence in the Surrey Senior League and have recently risen through the pyramid, via the Combined Counties League. They were promoted into the Ryman League Division One South in 2008/09, winning promotion via the play-offs in 2014/15, beating Folkestone Invicta. Last season they finished 10th in the Ryman Premier.

Merstham have beaten East Preston, Colliers Wood United and on Saturday thrashed Thamesmead Town 5-1 to reach this stage, beating their previous best-ever run to the Third Qualifying Round in 2008/09. Their average attendance is around the 150-mark.
