Fleet 2-1 Dorking Wanderers

The Fleet turned around a second-half deficit to enjoy a first home win over Dorking Wanderers.

An early chance for the Fleet came when Ben Chapman’s looping delivery looked to pick out a fellow red shirt but Harrison Foulkes punched that effort clear.

Dorking’s first chance of the match came moments later with Gio Bellagambi was called into action but a comfortable save kept that clear of danger.

Gene Kennedy came close to securing the opener when he got on the end of Charlie Seaman’s pass but his close-range effort was denied by Foulkes.

Bellagambi once again was forced to pull off a strong save before Tom Dallison tried a shot from distance at the other end which was deflected wide.

Fleet lost Jamie Fielding to injury just before half-time and worse was to come.

Dorking took the lead straight after the break when a ball to the far post was met by Jason Prior who nodded it home from close range. Jimmy Muitt was close to making it 2-0 with a shot that hit the crossbar.

Josh Wright made a double substitution with Toby Edser and George Moncur brought on and both had a hand in the Fleet’s equaliser on the hour. Edser carried the ball and Moncur played Chapman in out wide, with the No.22 then deciding to cut in and fire a shot across Foulkes and into the opposite corner.

Fleet had a couple of chances to win it with Aaron Cosgrave one on one with Foulkes but that was well saved while Kwesi Appiah hit one over the bar and another cheeky effort into Foulkes’ arms.

Another substitution won the game for the Fleet as Samuel needed just a minute on the field to get a foot to Moncur’s effort on goal that bounced off two other players and then managed to cross the line for the winner.
