Gene Kennedy’s late goal denied King’s Lynn victory as the Fleet more than deserved at least the draw from the final home friendly of the summer.
In a physical battle, Josh Wright got more minutes into his side with 10 of the starting 11 playing 90 minutes.
The Fleet certainly dominated the first-half despite it being a tight affair in midfield. Josh Coley latched on to a delivery from Mark Cousins with a quick darting run forward. He got his shot off quickly but his effort was marginally wide of the mark.
Jamie Fielding was able to supply a neat ball into the box which was met by Kwesi Appiah but goalkeeper Louis Chadwick was able to get himself in the way of that.
Although the goalscoring chances were few, the tackles weren’t and the referee had to talk to players on a couple of occasions.
Charlie Seaman’s free-kick minutes before half-time then made its way into the area where an arriving Toby Edser headed the ball slightly too high to trouble Chadwick.

King’s Lynn’s first chance of the match arrived just after the break as Michael Gyasi’s shot was excellently palmed clear by Mark Cousins who later pushed another chance over the bar.
The Fleet’s closest opportunity arrived just before the hour mark. Edser ran through on goal but only having Chadwick to beat, he found the King’s Lynn keeper had spread himself well and he was able to get the crucial touch to send it off target.
A goal arrived somewhat against the run of play for the visitors on 67 minutes when a low ball from the edge of the area was taken on by Ross Crane and he got enough on it to send it into the bottom left corner.
The Fleet were knocking on the door for an equaliser as Edser was brought down in another charge on goal and from the edge of the box, Ben Coker’s free-kick was marginally off target. Coley’s effort from a corner then just headed past the post.

But an equaliser did arrive in the dying minutes when a Mustapha Olagunju ball found Kennedy on the left edge of the box and although off balance with two defenders around him, he found enough weight and accuracy on the ball to hit the back of the net to make it two wins, a draw and one defeat at the Kuflink this July.
