Ebbsfleet United have been drawn at home against fellow Kent side Hythe Town of the Ryman League Division One South, with the tie to be played on Saturday, September 27. As a perk of our season ticket deal, this means all season-ticket holders will gain free entry to the cup tie.
Hythe, managed by ex-Dover legend Tim Dixon, beat Whitstable Town 4-0 in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round on Saturday – with the FA website erroneously stating that Fleet were to meet Whitstable instead!
Hythe are currently 20th in the league but have a decent cup pedigree in recent years, having been the lowest-ranked side left in the competition when they reached the First Round of the 2010-11 FA Cup, losing to Hereford, having beaten Concord and Staines along the way. They also won the Kent Senior Cup in 2011-12, beating the Fleet 4-1 at Stonebridge Road, and also overcoming Dover and Dartford.
This will be the fourth competitive match between the sides, with Fleet drawing and losing in two legs of the 1990 Larchimage Windows Cup to Hythe.
