Bostwick and McPhee commit to contracts

Michael Bostwick and Chris McPhee give the Fleet a boost ahead of Stafford game

Combative Ebbsfleet United defender/midfielder Michael Bostwick has signed a contract with the club until the end of the 2007-08 season. The former Millwall, Crawley and Rushden teenager had previously been on non-contract terms following his arrival in August 2007, originally as defensive cover.

Bostwick has played 16 games for the Fleet, scoring once – in the 1-1 draw at Exeter. Equally at home as a central defender, or in midfield, he is another player who boosts manager Liam Daish’s squad options and this new contract now ties the sought-after player to Ebbsfleet until May 2008.

Hot on Bostwick’s heels, Fleet’s former Torquay striker Chris McPhee also put pen to paper on a contract until the end of the season. Having joined the Fleet following a successful trial in pre-season, McPhee – who has shown great versatility by playing in both midfield and defence in 20 games – has had his excellent form rewarded with a deal until next year.

Manager, Liam Daish said: ?I am pleased to have secured
both players, there has been interest from other clubs in recent weeks and it
is very pleasing that they have both decided to stay. They are two key players
for us.?
