BROMLEY 1-1 EBBSFLEET UTD
The Fleet remained undefeated in their pre-season warm-up games with a 1-1 draw at Bromley?s Hayes Lane this afternoon. Against a strong Bromley side featuring ex-Fleet heroes Bobby Bowry and Francis Duku, and also including new signing from Margate Danny Hockton, Liam Daish chose to put out yet another decent XI.
Also in Fleet yellow this afternoon was trialist Chris McPhee, a Sussex-born 24-year-old striker. McPhee began his career at Brighton, making his debut at 16, played on loan for Aldershot and Swindon and last season played more than 30 games for Torquay.
It was another striker who opened the scoring, however, Chukki Eribenne (left) heading the Fleet into a 1-0 lead after 18 minutes, having already shared two good opportunities, one with McPhee who hit the bar. Fleet made a lot of good running in the first half, but failed to capitalise and were punished nine minutes into the second half when Danny Hockton tucked away an equaliser.
Substitute and PASE player Stubbs skinned the woodwork late in the game, but Bromley held on for a draw.
Team: Mott, Hawkins, Opinel, Ricketts, Smith, McCarthy, Slatter, McPhee, Nade, Eribenne, Purcell.
