A FIFA-qualified referee will officiate the FA Trophy Final…

West Riding referee Martin Atkinson has been appointed as match referee for the FA Trophy Final on May 10 between Ebbsfleet United and Torquay United. The 37-year-old official has been refereeing since
1986. He was promoted as a National List Referee in 2003, becoming a
Select Group Referee in 2005 and was promoted to the
FIFA Referees List in 2006.

He has previously taken charge of the 2006 Chelsea-Liverpool Community Shield at the Millennium Stadium. He was refereeing his first Premiership match only two years after elevation from the Conference. This season he has – like many of his colleagues – been the victim of Alex Ferguson’s wrath after refereeing the FA Cup quarter-final between Manchester United and Portsmouth.

He will be assisted by John Flynn and Barry Sygmuta, with Stuart Attwell as fourth official.
