EUFC Schools Programme receives further grant from National League Trust

The club is delighted to announce that we have received a second grant from the National League Trust (NLT) to support the EUFC Schools Programme, writes Schools Coordinator Phil Moss.

This grant, combined with the ongoing support provided by Clarion Futures, the charitable foundation of Clarion Housing Group which owns and manages hundreds of homes locally, and Gravesend-based transport provider 1st Bus Stop, enables us to further develop and enhance the Programme.

The National League Trust has now provided a total of £25,000 in grants to EUFC, while Clarion Futures and 1st Bus Stop have contributed an additional £13,000 of funding.

These ongoing partnerships enables EUFC to increase the reach of the Programme, and work with an increasing number of primary and secondary schools in the local area.

The relationship with Clarion Futures and 1st Bus Stop also contributes towards the costs associated with transporting pupils to the Kuflink Stadium to take part in activities, and provides access to ‘careers in football’ sessions, helping young people identify employment and training opportunities within football and the wider sporting world.

When asked about the Programme, Matt Parsonage, Head of Communities at Clarion Futures, said “it’s a fantastic way for local schoolchildren to access all sorts of educational and memorable experiences, and we’re delighted to be supporting EUFC.”

Mitchell and John Thurbin at 1st Bus Stop are “thrilled to be a partner of The Fleet and to support the Schools Programme. We believe in the power of education and sport to transform lives, and we are proud to contribute to initiatives that provide valuable learning opportunities for young people. We are excited about the potential of this collaboration to make a positive impact on the lives of local children.”

Damian Irvine (CEO) said the club is “extremely grateful to the National League Trust, Clarion Futures and 1st Bus Stop for sharing in our vision for the Schools Programme.

Their financial contributions and additional support are enabling us to engage with a wider group of schools, providing more opportunities for the young people of Ebbsfleet, Gravesend and Northfleet, and beyond.”

The first group of EUFC Partner Schools for the 2024/25 season will be announced later this month as we continue to develop our relationships with both primary and secondary schools and the wider community.
