Eirich eyes English opportunity at Ebbsfleet

Dennis Kutrieb has signed a second German player to his squad for 2020/21 with the acquisition of wide attacking player Alex Eirich.

The 26-year-old Uzbek-born Eirich is a product of the Berlin football scene having come through the youth ranks at Berliner SC before playing for BW90 Berlin, Brandenburger SC Süd (across three spells) and FSV Luckenwalde. In 2017 he moved up a division to fourth-tier FSV Union Fürstenwalde.

Last summer, he was signed by Kutrieb’s former club Tennis Borussia Berlin and impressed on his first few appearances before an injury ruled him out from taking part in TeBe’s title-winning season.

An adaptable attacker whose two-footed approach allows him to operate on either flank, Eirich is a pacy and technically intelligent player.

The Fleet boss said of Eirich, “Alex is a very fast and intelligent player who is able to work in every position along the front line. He performed very, very well in pre-season for me last summer and I was very disappointed that an injury ruled him out for TeBe.

“But he is a really exciting individual and now he is returning to fitness, he’s prepared to show us what he can do by coming to England and Ebbsfleet. He has played most of his career in the fourth or fifth tier in Germany and his skills and strengths are very well suited to the English game.”
