Deal Town 0-5 Fleet

You can’t ask any more from pre-season friendly games than a thorough workout, a few goals and a clean sheet and that’s exactly what Fleet got in their first local pre-season friendly of 2016/17.

Starting with three centre backs, and with Matt Fish and Jack Connors either side down the flanks, Fleet enjoyed a two-goal half-time lead courtesy of goals by John-Paul Kissock and Mark Phillips, to add to his first scored in Portugal last weekend.

With the usual array of half-time substitutes, it was one of our trialists who battled well to blast home an excellent shot for the third before Sam Deering made it four from the penalty spot. Anthony Cook got a late fifth, by which time Fleet had completed their substitutions to keep some players fresh for the first-half (at least)  of the Ryan Hayes Testimonial at Princes Park on Sunday.

Starting XI: Ashmore, Fish, Connors, Clark, Winfield, Phillips, Kissock, Lewis, Kedwell, Bubb, Parkes. Subs: Greenidge, Miles, Liddle, Cook, Shields, Denny, Deering, Boulding, M-Neave, Holmes, Trialist, Trialist
