Following injuries to both Mark Cousins (concussion) and Felix Goddard (broken finger), the Fleet can confirm the short-term emergency signing of experienced goalkeeper Lucas Covolan ahead of today’s fixture against York City.
The 33-year-old arrives following his departure from Braintree Town where he featured 23 times for the Iron and kept six clean sheets. Prior to his move to Essex, Covolan was part of Maidstone United’s FA Cup run last season. He also played for Torquay United (scoring an injury-time equaliser in the 2020 promotion final) as well as in League Two for Port Vale.

Born in Brazil, the keeper spent his early career in his homeland – earning international U20 caps – and then played in Spain with Alaró. He moved to England in 2016 and first featured against the Fleet for Whitehawk, going on to play for Lewes, Worthing (where he was player of the year) and Chesterfield.
We wish Lucas a warm welcome to the Kuflink Stadium ahead of today’s fixture against York City.
