By George, he’s back!

Ebbsfleet United are delighted to announce the return to action of Academy player George Della Valle. The 16-year-old underwent major heart surgery only four weeks ago after being taken ill at an Academy match and tests revealed a defect which needed immediate attention.

Fleet Academy manager Daryl McMahon was delighted to welcome George back to the club and even more to see him come through 30 minutes successfully against Margate in the Football Conference Youth Alliance. He praised the returning player’s “excellent performance” as a second-half substitute.

Four goals from Harry Salter, two from Casey Johnson, another Karn Miller-Neave free-kick and strikes from Louie Allen and Marshall Taderera saw the Academy side maintain their 100% start to the league season as they trounced Margate 9-0 to leave them in third place but with a game in hand over leaders Bromley Blues. Fleet will face Bromley in the League Cup on Wednesday 12 November. The next home match is against Crystal Palace on Wednesday 29 October, kick-off 12.00 noon. Fans are welcome to attend at the PHB Stadium.
