The Club announced this morning that following the departure of Jessica McQueen as Chief Executive on 13th December, there is to be a staffing reorganisation of non-football staff. Central to this is the appointment of a new General Manager. He will report directly to Executive Vice Chairman Peter Varney.
Peter Varney said, “I am delighted to announce that the EUFC board has appointed David Archer as the Club’s General Manager. He will take up his post on 15th January. David is currently the Head of Commercial Sales at Charlton Athletic FC and is working out his notice period.
“David has vast experience in sponsorship, marketing, sales and conference and banqueting in particular and the skills he has coupled with an incredible work ethic will be key to our plans to develop this football club over the next few years. We are very fortunate to have someone of his calibre joining us and David will oversee and manage all day to day operations at the Club.”
David Archer said, “I am really looking forward to the fantastic opportunity this role offers me and to renewing a working relationship with Peter Varney and Stuart Butler-Gallie whom I have known and worked with for many years. I can’t wait to get started and will do everything I can to achieve the objectives set by Dr Abdulla and the board for the next few years. I really believe that I am joining a club that is heading in the right direction”.
