The Fleet or Braintree Town will travel to North Ferriby United in the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy following the draw at FA Headquarters earlier today. The Villagers, as they are known, are 10th in Conference North but only a few points outside the play-offs and last season finished as runners-up but lost to Guiseley in the play-off semi-finals.
The club is based at the Eon Visual Media Stadium near Hull and averages around 360 attendances. This will be North Ferriby’s second quarter-final appearance having lost to eventual runners-up Gosport Borough in last season’s competition. Their previous best was in 2000/01 where they lost to… Braintree Town!
In this season’s competition they have beaten Mickleover Sports, Boston United, Hyde and Farnborough.
The game will be played on Saturday, February 7 – which happens to be a blank weekend for the Fleet anyway as we would have been due to play Salisbury City.
