A Blue Ribbon event

The club announced today that the Blue Ribbon Foundation has become the official health charity of Ebbsfleet United in a ground-breaking initiative that will see the charity’s Blue Ribbon logo feature prominently on the back of the club’s away shirt this season.

The Blue Ribbon Foundation has three very important objectives:-

  • Raise awareness of male health issues – particularly cancer.
  • Use the Blue Ribbon as a ‘rallying banner’ to help bring about awareness and to encourage other male health charities to adopt the ribbon.
  • Support other male health and cancer charities.

Blue Ribbon Foundation chairman Jonathan Prince said, “I have seen first-hand how impactful a football club can be at getting men talking and doing something about their health and I am excited to launch this new partnership with Ebbsfleet United. The club has great plans to play a meaningful role in the local Gravesham community and we look forward to working with them over the coming year to encourage men to look after their well-being and to provide health MOT checks and advice and information on healthy lifestyles’’.

Club director Stuart Butler-Gallie said, “Obviously our priority is to build a successful playing squad and to introduce a range of football support functions to ensure maximum performance on the pitch; however, it is our strong intention to become a real community club and one which its supporters and the community at large can be rightly proud.

“This exciting link with the Blue Ribbon Foundation will form a major part of our commitment to the Gravesham area and I am delighted that the trustees of the charity have shown such confidence in us. We are looking forward to working with the Blue Ribbon Foundation and to developing what we hope will be a long and successful relationship.”
