It’s three points from the last three home games for the Fleet – but fans can only hope the next home game yields those three points in one go as Fleet again gave it a go against Alfreton but had to settle for a share of the spoils. On the bright side, however, it was the first clean sheet of the season on Preston Edwards’ 100th game.
The starting XI had a number of changes, Tom Phipp making way for the returning Ashley Carew after his signing yesterday, while Liam Enver-Marum replaced Moses Ashikodi who was on World Cup duty and Neil Barrett came in for the injured Ram Marwa.
Fleet were first to gain sight of goal, Enver-Marum finishing a good move by squaring a ball to Nathan Elder on the edge of the box but his shot was saved by Jon Stewart.
