Fleet bring in midfield man Vennings

Ebbsfleet United welcome midfielder James Vennings to the club today following his arrival after five seasons in the National League.

The former England C international is an FA Trophy and National League promotion winner with Bromley and spent the last two campaigns with Braintree Town.

Bexley-born Vennings, 25, spent seven years as a youth at Charlton Athletic, graduating alongside former Fleet loanee Albie Morgan. The technically gifted midfield man made three appearances in the Championship for the Addicks before two loan spells in the National League with Aldershot.

Bromley signed him on loan in 2022 before making the deal permanent and he played at Wembley in their FA Trophy victory over Wrexham in his first season. He was part of the Ravens side – alongside Josh Passley – that won promotion into League Two in 2023/24 before a move to Braintree where he has continued to hold down a regular midfield berth for the last two National League seasons.
