The new Ebbsfleet United kits have launched this evening following a live event at the Morrow Stadium attended by supporters and sponsors.
Representatives from Morrow were on hand to meet and greet fans as their logo proudly adorned both stadium and front of shirt on our home and away kits.
The kits themselves – working alongside new kit partners Errea – have drawn inspiration from previous designs and the Fleet’s maritime history.
The home shirt, launched with a little help from club legends Jimmy Jackson, Steve Portway and Craig Wilkins, recalls the 1998/99 strip that all three players wore. With almost 1,000 appearances and approaching 300 goals between those three players alone, it was an absolute pleasure to welcome them back for our home-kit photoshoot almost 30 years after they first pulled that shirt over their heads.
The away kit is a cream and military-green colour combination, the green stripes on the shoulders once again recalling the colours of Gravesend United who merged with the red of Northfleet United to form the present club in 1946. The away shirt also features a faded, subtle depiction of an East Indiaman merchant vessel on which the Fleet club badge is based which also draws inspiration from our rich riverside heritage, from where many of these vessels were launched and plied their trade.
Both shirts – which come in long and short-sleeved versions – also pay homage to the Gravesend & Northfleet name with letter detailing beneath the back collar.
