Preview: Farnborough

The Fleet head back out on the road to round off November with a trip to Farnborough for the first time since February 2023.

Form guide
Saturday’s hosts sit inside the relegation zone with their last win coming at the beginning of the month against Dorking Wanderers. Boro travelled to Chippenham Town on Tuesday night which saw the spoils shared – former Fleet top scorer Dominic Poleon firing a brace in the opening 20 minutes for the visiting team before leaving the field injured. Farnborough have won four games this season, three of them on home soil.

Head to head
The Fleet’s most recent visit to the Cherrywood Road (going by the name Saunders Transport Community Stadium currently) came in the title-winning season when goals from Franklin Domi and Haydn Hollis saw out a 2-2 draw under the lights. The reverse fixture that season went in favour of the Fleet by 4-2 in the early part of the campaign.

Who’s who
There will be three names that Fleet fans will not need an introduction to in Rakish Bingham, Dominic Poleon and Billy Clifford. Bingham and Poleon arrived at the Kuflink Stadium in the 2020/21 season and fired 55 and 81 goals respectively in that time. Poleon’s injury on Tuesday night could rule him out of this weekend’s game, however. Billy Clifford spent 18 months at the club before making the switch to Barnet last summer.

Mason Bloomfield rejoined Farnborough in the summer following his departure 10 months prior. The 29-year-old striker is closing in on 50 appearances for Boro and has managed four goals this season. Bloomfield has also played for the likes of Hampton & Richmond, Dagenham & Redbridge, Crawley and more.
