Ebbsfleet United have signed goalkeeper Jonathan Macaulay on an initial 28-day loan from Watford.
The 20-year-old was born in Sweden and has represented both his birth country and England at U18 level. He joined Watford’s academy in February 2021 and made the step up from the Hornets U18s ranks to the U21s two years later.
His senior development since has included loan spells in the National South and North with Hemel Hempstead Town, Oxford City and most recently Bedford Town. At Bedford last season, he helped the Eagles to an unbeaten run-in, clinching the Southern League Premier Central title and with it promotion to the National North in the process.
Macaulay signed a new two-year contract at Watford back in March and most recently kept a clean sheet playing in a 6-0 win for their U21s against Colchester earlier this week.
