Preview: Altrincham

It’s the final fixture of March as Altrincham are the latest side to pay the Kuflink Stadium a visit before we head into the last month of football on home soil this season.

Form guide
A strong performance against the Shots with three first-half goals scored secured a point for the Fleet who are targeting back-to-back league wins at the Kuflink.

Altrincham, looking to get back into the play-offs hunt after being overtaken by Rochdale, are below the Fleet in the form table having picked up their first point in midweek following five successive defeats. That point against Solihull Moors, with 10 men after Justin Amaluzor’s sending-off, was their only point from four straight home games.

Altrincham were the final visitors to the Kuflink in April last season

Who’s who
Regan Linney
is Altrincham’s – and one of the National League’s – top goalscorers for the 2024/25 campaign. Since his arrival from FC United in 2023, Linney’s record with the club is 40 goals in 85 games, 20 of them this season alone.

Supporting him in attack is Alex Newby who initially joined Altrincham on loan from Colchester United back in September 2023 before the move was made permanent in the January. His first goal for the Robins came against the Fleet and he has also played against us for Chorley.

Altrincham are without goalkeeper Ethan Ross and defender Eddy Jones who both have ACL injuries and ex-Wrexham goalkeeper Rob Lainton is likely to fill one of those gaps. Former Maidstone front man Amaluzor is suspended.

The manager
Appointed back in April 2017, Phil Parkinson is currently in his eighth season with the club and has taken charge of over 300 matches, picking up 118 wins as manager. After a successful spell with Nantwich Town, Parkinson has now earned two promotions and one National League play-off place with Altrincham.
