The Fleet have signed midfielder Ryan Carr from Ipswich Town on loan until the end of this season. 

The 20-year-old spent the opening half of the campaign on loan with National League promotion contenders Gateshead and last season he helped Aveley achieve a highest-ever seventh place finish and qualification for the National South play-offs. 

The right-sided player started out in Newcastle United’s youth team before moving to Carlisle United where he made his debut in the Papa John’s Trophy aged 17 and was named on the first-team bench in League Two on seven occasions.

After two years at Brunton Park, he was a deadline day signing for Ipswich who fought off other interested EFL clubs to sign him in January 2023 and he has turned out for the U21s at Portman Road in between his loan spells.
