Preview: West Ham United

The return to the Kuflink Stadium sees the Fleet take on West Ham’s development squad in the third pre-season fixture of the campaign – but the first football at home since the visit of Altrincham in April.

This is the fourth successive summer visit for the Hammers – and all those three previous results have finished 2-1 – twice in favour of the Fleet and one win for West Ham in between.

Danny Searle spent a number of seasons coaching in the youth department at West Ham and will face his former side this Saturday, along with boyhood fans of the club in new signing Tom Dallison, Josh Wright and Harrison Firth. Dallison, along with Lewis Page, were also at West Ham as youngsters.

It’s been a perfect start to the Fleet’s pre season with 11 goals in two matches – Dominic Samuel is top scorer with four goals so far.

West Ham’s development squad, who compete in the U21 Premier League 2, have plenty of talented youngsters to test the Fleet in what will be another step up for Searle’s squad this pre-season. Many of the players won the FA Youth Cup and U18 Premier League South double as U18s in 2022/23 and last season the Hammers finished as runners-up in Premier League 2.

This will be their first pre-season outing of the summer, with a match against our National League rivals Maidenhead United to follow Saturday’s visit to the Fleet.

Tickets can be purchased in advance here and at the club reception. Prices will rise by £1 at midnight and tickets are also on sale on the day at our ticket windows.
