Hot on the heels of Omari Sterling-James’ first goal for the Fleet recently against Worthing, the wide man has been rewarded with another call-up to the Saint Kitts and Nevis squad.
He will play in their Concacaf Nations League Group Phase during this month’s international match window.
Sterling has 13 caps to his name already having made his international debut in 2017, plus three goals including one in World Cup qualification.
The Sugar Boyz will play against St. Martin on 23rd March in Anguilla and then at home to Aruba four days later. Saints Kitts and Nevis are currently second in their group but have a game in hand and a win over Aruba would see them leapfrog the current leaders.
Sterling, who will miss the BT Sport live game at Slough, will be back in the Fleet camp in time for April’s fixtures and the visit to Taunton Town.
The club is delighted that our No.7 has been recognised for his superb performances this season and joins a proud list of Fleet internationals. We’re sure all Fleet supporters will join with Dennis Kutrieb and all Omari’s teammates in congratulating him on his call-up and we’ll watch with interest his country’s progress later this month.
