Elliott Romain has returned to the Fleet following the conclusion of his loan spell at Hemel Hempstead Town.
The striker scored three times in four games for the Tudors in his stay at Vauxhall Road, grabbing one on his debut at Concord Rangers, then firing the winner v Bath City and another in the Boxing Day derby against St Albans City.
Romain impressed greatly at Hemel with his application on the pitch and attitude off it, being named in the side by both outgoing manager Mark Jones and new boss Brad Quinton.
Of his loan period at the time, Fleet boss Dennis Kutrieb said, “I fancy Elliott to score goals there. It will do him good to get the games and it will do us good to have a striker getting game time, getting used to scoring again and coming back to us with that under his belt.”
Similarly to last season, the bulk of Romain’s starts in a Fleet shirt came in the second half of the season as the team embarked on a run of wins to the end of that campaign. He now returns to the squad available for selection as we look ahead to the first home game of 2023 against Weymouth – online tickets for that one are available here.
