Fleet overcome a Charlton XI with ease, netting five goals in the process, including Raphael Nade’s first.
EBBSFLEET UNITED 5-1 CHARLTON ATHLETIC
The Fleet?s dazzling pre-season form was maintained with a healthy
5-1 triumph over a Charlton side made up mainly of youth and fringe
players, the bulk of Alan Pardew?s squad having travelled to Aldershot
for Paul Shrubb?s testimonial and fundraiser after the former Addicks
scout was diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
Chukki Eribenne helped start the rout, feeding George Purcell for
the opening goal of proceedings. Charlton grabbed an equaliser, but
Eribenne?s third goal of pre-season put the Fleet back in the
ascendancy. Mark De Bolla got a taste for the back of the net again
with the third after the break. Raphael Nade (pictured) scored his first in Fleet
colours and there was more to come as the unlikely marksman Sacha
Opinel rounded off another pleasant evening for Liam Daish and, no
doubt, Alan Kimble against his old club.
