The club have today signed AFC Bournemouth centre-back Tyler Cordner on loan until January.
The 21-year-old was awarded his first professional contract by the Premier League club in 2017 and turned in a string of impressive performances on loan with Havant & Waterlooville last season.
Formerly with Portsmouth before going on to play for Bournemouth’s U21s, the highly rated Southampton-born defender played in both Havant’s draws with the Fleet last season. He is the second Cherries link in the current Fleet squad, after former Bournemouth goalkeeper Jordan Holmes.
His form with the Hawks in the National League in 2018/19 had a number of EFL clubs scouting him and having been on the Fleet’s radar as well, manager Garry Hill is delighted to add him to the squad ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Dover.
He could come up against one of his Bournemouth defensive colleagues Charlie Seaman next week, who has just signed a similar loan deal with Eastleigh.
Welcome to the Fleet, Tyler!
