Ex-Dons midfielder on Fleet trial

Fleet handed a trial to 21-year-old midfielder Alfie Egan in the 1-1 draw at Princes Park this evening.

The former AFC Wimbledon man, who was released by the League One club this summer, came through the Dons youth ranks and has also played for Sutton United and Kingstonian on loan.

Garry Hill said of Egan, who played 79 minutes in the No.18 shirt at Dartford, “He worked hard, but he’s come in tonight, it’s his first run out, so it’s difficult.”

Egan was the only trialist who started the game but three more – who all featured at K Sports last Saturday – made second-half appearances.
