Henry bids farewell to Fleet

Chris Henry leaves the club by mutual consent…

Chris Henry has departed Stonebridge Road by mutual consent.

The 19-year-old defender, a product of the club?s youth system which has produced Tom Phipp, Michael West, Luke Moore and John Akinde, has struggled to break into the first team of late at Stonebridge Road.

Manager Liam Daish paid tribute to Henry?s contribution to the club: ?Chris has been unfortunate in that we have needed experienced players in his position while rebuilding the side. He has always given 100% when called upon and I would like to thank him for his efforts during a difficult period for the club. He is at an age when he needs to play to develop his game, and my coaching staff and I are certain that he will soon join a club where he will prosper and we wish him good luck for the future.?

Chris, who was elevated to the first-team squad in the summer of 2009, made his debut for the club in a Setanta Shield win at Crawley Town in March 2009 and has clocked up 17 first-team appearances in total. He has also turned out for Maidstone United this season.
