Vice chairman Peter Varney has told FleetOnline that preparations for this Saturday’s derby match with Maidstone United are progressing well, with arrangements in place to bring in extra facilities for the away end.
Varney said, “We met with the Police and Safety Team this morning and confirmed the arrangements for Saturday. Maidstone supporters will be accomodated in the Swanscombe End and we have brought in additional toilet and catering facilities. We will also be selling alcohol at that end and we want Maidstone fans to feel welcome despite the logistics that segregation demands.
“As of this morning Maidstone still have 130 tickets to sell of their 800 allocation, and together with the advance tickets sold to home supporters, we will be looking at another gate in excess of 2,000 which should ensure a great atmosphere.”
Home supporters – who can still purchase advanced tickets during office hours through to Friday and at Tuesday night’s FA Cup replay, should enter via the Stonebridge Road entrance only. Maidstone supporters need to use the entrance at the Swanscombe End only.
