Stonebridge Road’s floodlight pylons are no more as scheduled work this week has seen them removed in preparation for the installation of new Football League-standard lights.
The new floodlights are scheduled to be in position by the end of June, well before the commencement of pre-season friendlies and the new Conference South season.
Elsewhere around the stadium, pitch regeneration work begins on Wednesday to maintain the high standards seen throughout the terrible weather of 2013-14, when Stonebridge Road did not have a single match postponed. An order has also been placed for our electronic scoreboard as the club continues to develop the stadium through the summer.
We are, of course, aware that fans seek player news above all else in the close season – talks are ongoing with existing players and transfer targets. Once deals are concluded, FleetOnline will bring you all the news.
