Storm brings floodlights crashing down

Fleet are counting the cost after weekend storms brought one of the floodlight pylons down with the fall smashing the lighting brackets.

The pylon, situated in the corner by the ground entrance and the Plough End, was damaged during the onslaught of high winds on Saturday night.

The club are working hard to ensure the area is made safe for Saturday’s game against Staines Town and having a temporary solution in place as a substitute for the damaged floodlight.

Work is due to begin at Stonebridge Road next month on the installation of new, higher-spec and brighter-lux floodlights.
