Shields shakes hands on permanent deal

Loanee Sean Shields has made his move to Ebbsfleet United permanent following a deal with Dagenham & Redbridge.

The wide midfielder, 22, has spent a month on loan and has impressed manager Jamie Day sufficiently to earn a move, having scored once in four starts and two substitute appearances.

The former St Albans player has scored five further goals this season during a loan spell back at his former club and he leaves Dagenham for the Fleet despite having originally signed a deal through to the summer of 2016 with the League Two club.

He has agreed an 18-month contract at the PHB Stadium and Fleet boss Jamie Day said of his capture, “Sean is a young talent who I have had the pleasure of working with over the last five weeks. Once he became available I felt it was right to bring him in long-term. He has a great attitude and wants to develop further.”
