Ebbsfleet United’s new signing Jordan Parkes celebrated a double triumph at the weekend’s National League Gala Awards and AGM at Celtic Manor. The midfielder earned a placed in the Vanarama Conference South team of the season (as did Anthony Cook) but also picked up the prestigious prize for the division’s player of the season.
Having scored 30 goals from midfield in all competitions for Hemel Hempstead Town, Parkes said he was left feeling “overwhelmed” after accepting his award from England C manager Paul Fairclough.
Elsewhere, Basingstoke Town picked up the Respect Award, Bromley won the Fair Play Award, Bath City received a Community Award and Chelmsford City were awarded Programme of the Year.
Jako announced a £2.5m, 10-year ball and kit deal with the league while General Manager Dennis Strudwick received a Long and Meritorious Service to Football award.
