Roll out the Daryl…

The club is pleased to announce that 31-year-old Daryl McMahon has been appointed as first-team manager on a two-year contract.

Vice chairman Peter Varney said, “It is essential that going forward we bring some stability to the club after the disappointment of last season. Daryl is a very bright young coach and a good man manager and has shown his management ability in the four matches he was in charge last season.

“We won both league matches 4-0 and gave our best two performances of the season. We won and drew the other two FA Trophy matches. Daryl knows the squad and has put forward a plan to the board to hopefully make us a real force in the Vanarama National League South next season.

“We did consider other candidates but Daryl has the advantage over others of not needing several months to assess the playing squad and then proposing wholesale changes as happened under the previous manager.”

The club has also announced there will be a pre-season training camp for the management and playing squad in Portugal in July.
