Grant Basey departs

Ebbsfleet United have announced that Grant Basey has left the club to pursue other interests and to take time out from the game to re-evaluate his playing career.

The former Charlton defender arrived at Stonebridge Road in October and featured in a Kent Senior Cup tie before an injury ruled him out for the next few weeks. Upon recovery, he played again in the KSC and featured on the bench for league and FA Cup matches.

Fleet boss Steve Brown said: “Grant came to us with every intention of regaining full fitness to push for a contract and a starting place. Grant’s attitude has been first class but he’s decided to take time out to think about his long-term future. We all wish him well and he knows he is welcome here at Stonebridge Road should he want to come back.”
